Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking an Engineering Manager, New Product Development (Mechanical) to lead a team of Mechanical Design Engineers in developing new products and customer-driven solutions. You will drive projects from concept through launch, oversee design validation, prototyping, and commercialization while ensuring manufacturability and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 7+ years in mechanical design/product development, with leadership experience.
• Proven track record leading NPD programs from concept to commercialization.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM, and documentation standards.
• Experience with metal fabrication, enclosures, and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Mechanical Design Engineers focused on New Product Development initiatives.
• Drive end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept through production launch.
• Set project priorities, resource plans, and schedules aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, product management, and operations to define requirements.
• Oversee mechanical design activities including SolidWorks modeling, reviews, prototyping, testing, and production release.
• Lead cross-functional teams through milestones, risk assessments, and deliverables.
• Ensure products meet performance, quality, regulatory, and cost targets.
• Drive DFM, DFA, and product cost optimization throughout development.
• Promote automation, innovation, and stage-gate processes.
