Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Sunnyvale, CA seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Marine Systems power generation team for next generation naval submarines. You will guide an integrated engineering group across mechanical, electrical, aerothermal, acoustics, structural and systems disciplines to deliver complex hardware on schedule.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, on-site work, and a strong track record in requirements management and project execution. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5 years of engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of engineering experience.
• Ability to work onsite at Sunnyvale, CA; 100% onsite.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a 15+ person engineering team.
• Provide project and technical oversight of design activities.
• Prepare cost estimates and review proposals for customers.
• Increase engineering competencies through staff development and hiring.
• Balance employee needs with business goals.
• Own and direct the design processes used in the group.
• Understand the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process.
• Support initiatives, recruitment, roadmaps and process improvements.
