Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Principal Systems Integration & Optimization engineer for the Future Power Plants group, transitioning from concept to detailed design for the next naval submarine project. You will help evaluate target improvements, sustainability, and cost reductions across multiple disciplines.

The role requires knowledge of system and plant design or operations, plus the ability to define concepts of operations and assess design trade-offs to guide technology

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus 6+ years of relevant experience.
Master's degree plus 4+ years of relevant experience.
Doctorate degree plus 1+ year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Define and evaluate system, component, and plant designs.
Define concepts of operations and evaluate design trade-offs.
Incorporate operators' perspective into the design and development process.
