Job summary

Lakeside Recruiting is seeking an Engineering Manager (Machining & Assembly) to lead the Production Engineering Department and drive machining and assembly initiatives for automotive manufacturing. You will oversee project planning, process design and control, manage budgets and timelines, and collaborate with production teams to improve quality and efficiency while upholding safety and standards.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years experience, strong CAD/GD&T skills, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 7+ years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, and process optimization.
Leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
Previous experience within the automotive industry
Proficiency in GD&T, CAD software and simulation tools.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Familiarity with IATF and ISO Standards

Responsibilities

Manage members in the Production Engineering Department (Machining & Assembly).
Oversee the design and development of Machining and Assembly projects.
Ability to develop annual and semi-annual action plans that correspond with the company initiatives.
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce defects and reduce carbon footprints.
Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
Ensure compliance with industry, company standards, and safety regulations.
Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines.
Train and mentor engineering staff on best practices in machining/assembly.
Work with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment.
Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Submits proposals to management for consideration and allocation of funds from the department budget.
