Job summary

General Motors (GM) is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead one or more software teams within the Loyalty platform arena. You will coach engineers, guide architecture, and drive delivery decisions while staying close to the work to unblock complex challenges.

The role requires strong people leadership and hands-on expertise in modern web technologies, cloud tools, and data platforms. It is a hybrid role with relocation benefits available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of development experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience including developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of web development technologies (.Net Core, Spring Boot, Angular/React).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and cloud technologies (Azure or equivalent).
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set technical and delivery direction translating strategy into team priorities and roadmaps.
• Lead and develop engineering teams through hiring, coaching, and mentoring.
• Manage multiple projects with scope, capacity, risks, and on‑time delivery of data products.
• Provide technical leadership, promote strong software practices, and ensure scalable solutions.
• Strengthen reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across platforms.
