Job summary

General Motors seeks an Engineering Group Manager to lead the Software Architecture team within its Embedded Software organization in Milford, Michigan. The role requires strong leadership of 12–15 engineers and technical specialists, delivering a clear software architecture strategy across vehicle platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 7+ years of experience in Embedded Control systems and Software Architecture.
• 4+ years of direct people leadership experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 12-15 Software Architecture Engineers and Technical Specialists to develop the organization's Software Architecture strategy.
• Establish and maintain Software Architecture governance, including adherence to requirements and best practices.
• Define KPIs and OKRs to drive architecture efficiency and align with organizational goals and Built-in-Quality strategy.
• Influence cross-functional partners to align on priorities, decisions, and standards.
• Resolve conflicts and competing demands while maintaining focus on outcomes and delivery.
