Job summary

APX is an industry leader in metal manufacturing of enclosures, custom fabrication, machining and industrial coatings. We seek an Engineering Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Engineering Department, ensuring design, development, and support of custom sheet metal products from concept through production.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams and driving continuous improvement.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Strong collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Engineering team to foster accountability and collaboration.
• Establish department goals and performance expectations aligned with company objectives.
• Manage workload, staffing, and resource allocation to meet customer and production demands.
• Build and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Promote safety, quality, innovation, and customer focus.
• Lead recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and development of engineering staff.
• Oversee design and development of custom sheet metal enclosures and fabricated assemblies.
• Evaluate new technologies and manufacturing methods for product improvements.
• Support tooling development, fixture design, and process improvements.
• Reduce waste via Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Coordinate cross-functional project teams and provide regular updates to executives.
