Job summary

NIC Global, located in Spokane, WA, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Spokane engineering team and drive process design, implementation, and change control for new and existing business.

The role partners with plant management to align engineering priorities with operations, lead major projects, and advance new technology to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. Strong leadership and manufacturing experience required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in manufacturing operations or related field.
• Minimum of five years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory responsibility.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication methods and related industry specifications; AWS familiarity preferred.
• Experience with automation, PLC/HMI controls, or CNC programming is a plus.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and 2D design tools; ERP systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering team to ensure timely completion of tasks and clear status updates.
• Coordinate with plant management to align engineering priorities with operations.
• Drive NPIs including part programming, process docs, and PPAP to customer specs.
• Support major projects and new business by identifying equipment and resource needs.
• Manage engineering change control, equipment requirements, and packaging design.
• Lead APQP and PFMEA reviews; apply CAD tooling, fixtures, and gauges to reduce risk.
• Support CAPA and root-cause analysis and apply lean methods (6C/kaizen).
• Evaluate new technology and automation to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
