Job summary

NeighborFavor Inc. in Austin is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of individual contributors, conduct 1:1s, provide regular feedback, manage performance, and support career development.

You will align the tech roadmap with business goals, evaluate new tech and partnerships, collaborate with product and engineering, guide architecture, and foster Lean and Agile practices to deliver high-quality software across mobile, backend, and web stacks.

Qualifications

• A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a software engineering role including 2+ years leading high-performing teams.
• Strong, high-level understanding of modern, cloud-native software development across lifecycle from mobile frontends to distributed backends.
• Oversee cross-platform teams spanning mobile, backend, and modern web frontends with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Elasticsearch.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of individual contributors including 1:1s, regular feedback, performance management and career development conversations.
• Empower the team to deliver their very best.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering as equal stakeholders in the product development process.
• Participate in architectural design and coordinate with other software engineering managers for consistency.
• Identify and implement enhancements to standards, processes, and tools.
• Evaluate new technology solutions and partnerships to accelerate the engineering and product organization.
