Job summary

Favor Delivery is building high-touch logistics software in Austin. We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide multi-disciplinary teams across mobile, backend, and frontend platforms, aligning technical decisions with business opportunities and customer needs.

You will mentor engineers, drive performance, and champion Lean and Agile practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience.
• 7+ years of experience in a software engineering role including 2+ years of experience leading high performing engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of modern, cloud-native software development across mobile frontends to distributed backend microservices.
• Oversee cross-platform engineering teams spanning mobile, backend, and modern web frontends with a solid foundation in enterprise ops stacks.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of individual contributors including 1:1s, feedback, performance management, and career development conversations.
• Empower the team to deliver their very best.
• Facilitate goal-level creation for the broader function and align with team level goals.
• Ensure the technical roadmap aligns with business opportunities.
• Identify and implement enhancements to standards, processes, and tools.
• Evaluate new technology solutions and partnerships to accelerate engineering and product.
• Collaborate closely with product management and engineering as equal stakeholders in development.
• Participate in architectural design and coordinate with other engineering managers for consistency.
• Strive to improve collaboration and communications.
• Partner with leaders to identify and plan capabilities to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to determine priorities and impact.
