Qualifications

• Strong software engineering foundation to contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
• Experience managing and mentoring software engineers, including hiring, performance management, and professional development.
• Ability to establish priorities, set realistic delivery expectations, and drive projects to completion.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Experience developing and supporting production applications, with an emphasis on system stability, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
• Familiarity with Elixir or other functional programming languages, such as Erlang, Scala, or Clojure, is a plus.
• Experience with logistics, supply chain technology, distributed applications, or other operationally critical software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop engineering teams, providing mentorship, regular feedback, and support for career progression.
• Establish team priorities, coordinate sprint planning, and promote consistent delivery against project goals.
• Guide the ongoing development and improvement of core software applications based on business and technical needs.
• Maintain a strong focus on application performance, availability, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Partner with product, operations, and other stakeholders to coordinate initiatives and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Participate in roadmap planning, architectural discussions, and the development of engineering best practices.
• Encourage a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery.
