Job summary

Apollo.io is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of its largest engineering teams responsible for the daily execution surface used by reps at enterprise customers. You will help shape how the system evolves from a data-access tool to an AI-driven decision support system, mentor engineers, and ensure rapid delivery without compromising workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• 3–5 years of people management, leading senior engineers.
• Proven track record in software architecture at scale.
• Experience with Ruby and Python.
• Understanding of data privacy and security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Participate in key technical decision making discussions such as sprint planning, software design, and occasionally code reviews.
• Help build and scale a strong engineering team by sourcing and hiring candidates.
• Help the team carry its share of on call responsibility sustainably, without it crowding out roadmap work.
• Be a technical leader - some coding, lead from the details front as a mentor.
• Support the team in trade off conversations. Own sizing, estimation, and technical direction.
• Documentation is critical to our hyper growth; create clear processes and runbooks.
• Be compassionate, mentor others, and align with Apollo's values.
