TheGuarantors is a fintech company helping landlords, operators, and renters. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a distributed team of 4–6 engineers building landlord and renter tools.

This hybrid role is based in NYC, guiding architecture, code reviews, and coaching to boost ownership and impact. Our stack includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, NestJS, Go, REST and GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with prior team leadership.
• Hands-on full-stack experience (TypeScript, React, Node.js, NestJS, Go).
• Strong API design, data modeling, security, and reliability skills.
• Experience delivering customer-facing products across multiple services.
• Cloud (AWS) experience and distributed systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction across Landlord Portal and related flows.
• Raise engineering standards with reviews, testing, and observability.
• Build a high-performing distributed team and provide coaching.
• Lead cross-team collaboration with Product, Design, and QA.
• Turn priorities into measurable roadmap outcomes.
• Ensure operational reliability and incident response readiness.
