Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an empathetic engineering manager to lead a team building internal tools that enable and increase productivity for our employees, especially tools for security, authorization and automation. You'll partner closely with internal users to understand needs and set direction for efficient solutions, often augmenting the tools with Claude for a greater experience and impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in management.
• Experience shipping production full-stack software focused on usability.
• Experience leading teams building scalable internal applications and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building full-stack internal tools for business-critical use cases
• Partner with different teams to deeply understand their workflows and identify opportunities for improved productivity through engineering
• Set technical direction and prioritize roadmap initiatives that drive the most impact for internal users
• Foster a culture of rapid iteration, user feedback, and continuous improvement within the team
• Champion best practices in API design, security, and user experience across the team
• Monitor system reliability, build for operational excellence, and own incident response processes
• Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent
