Job summary

Okta is seeking a senior backend Java engineering manager to lead the Identity Threat Protection team’s platform features for authentication and authorisation on the company’s Secure Identity Platform. This role focuses on building and guiding a high-impact team, delivering mission-critical identity and security products, and ensuring scalable, secure systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Experience in stakeholder management, including alignment, prioritization, communication, and feedback incorporation.
• Demonstrated ability to build teams from ground-up, managing performance, mentoring and coaching."
• Demonstrated focus on delivering outcomes under tight deadlines.
• 7-10 years of prior software development experience with Java or other backend technologies.
• Experience with SDLC, testing automation & release orchestration using gating feature flags & configuration mgmt, CI/CD platforms.
• Knowledge of secure web development fundamentals and cloud technologies.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and operations for the team’s roadmap and customer satisfaction.
• Define strategic direction for the team and contribute to the roadmap.
