Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks a senior engineering/management leader to guide discipline-level technology and process improvements while aligning cost, schedule, and performance objectives with portfolio strategy.

You will manage and develop contributors, lead cross-functional efforts, and represent the team in key forums, applying SEL values and manufacturing principles to deliver robust products and processes.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering field or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Background check satisfactory to SEL and negative drug test.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads on discipline/technology/process, keeping cost, schedule, and performance objectives in mind.
  • Assists portfolio planning and long-term strategy.
  • Performs management activities to attract, hire, supervise, and develop individual contributors to meet the goals of the group.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • 8+ years of related engineering or management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines/technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products/processes
  • Ability to manage product line/process problems requiring creativity, ingenuity, and guidance from manager
  • Strong desire to develop employees and lead projects
  • Ability to define general approaches and specific solutions to technical problems
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)
