Stripe is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead autonomy across a large infrastructure area, directing multiple teams and delivering high-impact results. You will shape strategy, recruit and mentor senior engineers, and align cross-functional partners on priorities.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in software, 4+ years in engineering management, and a strong grasp of distributed systems, reliability, and secure production workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of engineering management experience with autonomous impact
• Experience leading high-complexity engineering teams delivering multiple workstreams
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority
• Meaningful recruiting experience attracting and developing senior engineering talent
• Technical depth to guide architecture decisions and uphold product quality

Responsibilities

• Lead with scope and autonomy across multiple teams or large infrastructure areas
• Define strategy and roadmap for your area and communicate plans to leadership
• Develop senior talent through coaching and providing stretch opportunities
• Drive cross-functional alignment with product, security, data, support, and adjacent teams
• Hire and scale the team while maintaining a high hiring bar
• Operate with rigor for reliability, availability, and incident response
• Partner with Staff engineers on architecture decisions for distributed systems and data processing
