Job summary

Aebi Schmidt is seeking an Engineering Manager in Minnesota to lead the design and development of Towmaster products. You will manage engineers, ensure product quality and regulatory compliance, and drive innovation for customer needs and efficiency.

You will work across production, sales, and service to deliver durable, cost-effective solutions, mentor staff, and oversee drawings, documentation, and vendor coordination. This role emphasizes leadership and hands-on engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required).
• 5-10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in trailer, heavy equipment, or truck body manufacturing strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of designers and engineers.
• Create department goals aligned with company initiatives.
• Approve all drawings ensuring structural integrity and safety.
• Collaborate with value stream to resolve design-related production issues.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
• Ensure products meet regulatory standards.
• Oversee department quality assurance and document control.
• Lead R&D projects from concept to product launch.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on materials and supplies.
• Support sales with technical expertise and determine product requirements with customers.
