Job summary

Plume in the United States is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software and QA engineers, guiding architecture, quality, and delivery of our telehealth platform. You will balance hands-on coding with people leadership, mentor engineers, shape QA strategy, and collaborate with product, clinical operations, and support to accelerate impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in engineering management or similar role.
• Experience managing QA functions, test strategy, and automated testing integration.
• Hands-on coding proficiency in core stack: Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, React; AWS Lambda familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and QA talent with career development and performance reviews.
• Cultivate an inclusive, psychologically safe team culture.
• Lead hiring for software engineering and QA roles; define interview processes.
• Define scalable QA strategy combining automated, manual, and regression testing.
• Monitor quality metrics and validation throughput to remove release bottlenecks.
• Establish SDLC workflows and agile systems for high-velocity delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, Clinical Operations, and Support to translate goals into backlogs.
• Communicate release readiness to non-technical partners and improve deployment processes.
• Write code and review architecture, supporting a stable and scalable platform.
• Balance hands-on work with people management and process ownership.
