Job summary

PayMitto is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a full-stack team responsible for the Core API and React/Next.js experiences. This role blends leadership with significant coding—half of time on C#/.NET and frontend work, half on people, priorities, and process.

You’ll guide architectural decisions and promote agentic development practices within an AI-native team. Hybrid role for Atlanta-area candidates (office: The Battery on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with hands-on coding and architectural design.
• 2+ years managing distributed software engineering teams.
• Strong backend experience with C# and .NET; production APIs.
• Proficient with React and Next.js, including TypeScript and server-side Node work.
• Solid Postgres skills: schema design, query performance, migrations against live data.
• Experience with agentic development workflows and AI coding tools.
• Ability to balance managerial duties with hands-on coding to meet objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Technical Leadership: spend ~50% coding across the stack and reviewing code.
• Provide architectural guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
• Own end-to-end design of features crossing API and front-end layers.
• Advance agentic engineering patterns and leverage coding agents effectively.
• Lead a team of 4–6 engineers delivering full-stack product capabilities.
• Conduct 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
• Collaborate across PayMitto to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Improve engineering processes, tools, and architecture to hit initiatives.
