Job summary

Apple is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of database engineers, delivering robust data platforms for client-facing solutions. You will combine deep database architecture with hands-on delivery, ensuring on-time, high-quality results and secure designs.

You will own end-to-end lifecycle of FileMaker Server, including schema design, data modeling, replication, backup, and observability, ensuring scalability and high availability across distributed environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in hands-on database or data engineering roles.
• 2+ years leading technical teams delivering client-facing systems or production database solutions.
• Experience designing scalable architectures across Server, Client, WebDirect, APIs, and cloud or on-premises deployments.
• Experience delivering complex systems on schedule while maintaining quality standards.
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and normalization principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers to design, deliver, and operate robust data platforms tailored to client use cases.
• Architect solutions across FileMaker Server, Client, WebDirect, APIs, and cloud or on-prem deployments.
• Review designs and code to ensure correctness and operability.
• Manage dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs to meet deadlines.
• Drive performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization for production environments.
• Enforce security and compliance standards, disaster recovery.
• Coach engineers to focus on client impact and excellence.
