Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Manager Engineering in Phoenix, AZ, to drive environmental programs, regulatory compliance, and training for field teams. This role partners with engineering and leadership to support environmental systems, gas and leachate projects, and budget planning.

You’ll lead data analytics, dashboards, and due diligence for acquisitions, while coordinating with finance, operations, and business development to meet KPIs and strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operations, engineering, and environmental compliance and remediation functions.
• Ability to identify issues, weigh options, and provide effective counsel.
• Thorough knowledge of landfill gas systems and/or landfill leachate processes.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to influence across levels.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitors data gaps and trends; trains field teams and consultants.
• Provides month-end statistics; creates performance trend data and insights.
• Assists with identification and assessment of landfill leachate and gas project opportunities.
• Coordinates due diligence with field, corporate, and consultants; guides liabilities and timelines.
• Communicates status with acquisition teams; develops gas dashboards and KPIs.
• Oversees landfill gas program and site construction guidance; manages capacity and timing.
• Maintains construction and wastewater project budgets; tracks diligence expenditures.
• Drives onboarding and ongoing skill development for field staff.
• Develops standards, policies, and best practices for wastewater and gas systems.
• Monitors regulatory changes and contributes to responses at regional/national levels.
• This position may require periodic travel to field sites.
