Job summary

Care.com’s Enterprise business seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the LifeCare engineering team and the supporting-Peoplesoft team. You will own delivery, reliability, security and compliance for these systems in a hands-on leadership role.

You will coach engineers, partner with product and operations, coordinate with auditors, and lead incident response while managing vendor relationships and modernization efforts. This role is based in Dallas with a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering and 2+ years in management.
• Strong Java/Spring Boot and relational DBs (Oracle/MySQL).
• Experience with legacy modernization and platform decoupling.
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, SAML/SSO and IDaaS (Cognito/Auth0/Okta).
• AWS, Terraform, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and observability tools.
• Incident response leadership and blameless post-mortems.
• Experience in regulated environments and auditor collaboration.
• Excellent executive-level communication and cross-team alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and grow engineers across both teams, incl. offshore.
• Partner with product, QA, data and DevOps on scoping and updates.
• Own production health: on-call, incident response, post-mortems.
• Drive FedRAMP, SOC 2/SOX commitments with security and infra teams.
• Prioritize work flow and shield team from low-priority tasks.
• Oversee integrations (Snowflake, SFTP feeds, SSO) and vendor relations.
• Improve code/design quality and plan modernization investments.
