Care.com is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the LifeCare engineering and supporting PeopleSoft teams. You will own delivery, reliability, security and compliance for these systems in a hands-on leadership role.

You will coach engineers, collaborate with product/ops, coordinate with auditors, and lead incident response in a hybrid Dallas environment.

Care.com\'s Enterprise business sells care benefits to employers through LifeCare (WorkLife). We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the LifeCare engineering team, and supporting-PeopleSoft team. You will own delivery, reliability, security and compliance for these systems. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will coach engineers, partner with product and operations, work with auditors, and lead incident response.

• Lead, coach and grow engineers across both teams, including offshore and vendor partners. Manage performance and career growth, and build a safe, accountable team culture.


• Partner with product, QA, data and DevOps on scoping, estimation and trade-offs. Give stakeholders clear, regular status updates.


• Own production health: on-call readiness, incident response, post-mortems, and observability and alerting (Splunk, SignalFx).


• Drive FedRAMP, STIG and SOC 2/SOX commitments with security, DBA and infrastructure partners, including audit logging, TLS, vulnerability scanning, and access and change reviews.


• Prioritize the steady flow of support, bug, report and permission requests against roadmap work, and shield the team from low-priority distractions.


• Oversee integrations (Snowflake, SFTP eligibility feeds, client SSO via SAML/OIDC) and manage vendor and contractor relationships.


• Raise code and design quality through effective use of AI tools, reduce single points of knowledge, and propose tech-debt and modernization investments with clear cost/benefit.


• 5+ years of software engineering and 2+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of coaching engineers and managing performance.


• Strong technical grounding in Java/Spring Boot services and relational databases (Oracle and/or MySQL); able to lead architecture and design discussions.


• Working knowledge of authentication and identity (OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, SSO) and IDaaS products such as AWS Cognito, Auth0 or Okta.


• Experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and observability tools (Splunk or similar).


• Experience leading incident response as a war-room lead, and running blameless post-mortems.


• Experience in regulated environments (FedRAMP, SOC 2, SOX, PCI or similar), and comfort working with auditors.


• Clear communication with executives, product and operations partners, and with distributed teams.

Nice to Have

• PeopleSoft experience (PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Integration Broker) or comparable enterprise CRM/ERP platforms.


• Snowflake integration experience.


• Familiarity with TypeScript/React/Next.js, GraphQL and Go.


• Background in enterprise benefits, HR-tech or marketplace businesses, and experience managing vendor or staff-augmentation teams.


• Candidates local to Dallas and Austin Texas are Highly preferred as we are hybrid Monday Wednesday & Thursday

Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 total cash compensation: The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com\'s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
