Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks a Software Engineering Manager for the EKS compute team focusing on EKS Auto and EKS worker node AMI. You will define the roadmap, own core services, and lead scalable software for Kubernetes at scale on AWS.

You will hire and mentor engineers, shape culture, practices, and organizational plans while collaborating with partner teams to deliver high-impact features in a fast-growing, high-scale environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Responsibilities

• Build and own core services responsible for EKS compute products including EKS Auto and EKS Hybrid/AMI related components
• Staff and manage the engineering team, set culture, best practices, and organizational planning
• Lead product development and drive technical excellence for Kubernetes-based workloads on AWS
• Collaborate with other AWS services to provide simple and streamlined interfaces
• Drive operational excellence, ownership, and accountability across the team
