Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle, WA seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead the EKS compute and runtime team, owning core services for EKS Auto and worker node AMI. You’ll shape roadmaps, drive staffing, and steward a culture of ownership and excellence in a hyper-growth environment.

The role focuses on building simple, scalable software for customers adopting Kubernetes at scale, with emphasis on reliability, security, and performance across cloud-native workloads.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting multi-tier web services
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
• Experience with engineering best practices across the full software lifecycle
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Responsibilities

• Own staffing and managing the engineering team, product development, and organizational planning
• Build and own core services for EKS products including EKS Auto and EKS Hybrid
• Lead efforts to monitor, repair, and scale Kubernetes worker nodes and AI/ML workloads
• Drive operational excellence and high-quality technology delivery at scale
