Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Manager III, Software Development to lead the EKS add-ons and capabilities team. You will own the add-on lifecycle, release pipeline, and managed ACK/kro capabilities across regions and partitions.

You will hire, grow, and retain SDEs, set design and code-review standards, and raise release velocity while maintaining safety. You will work with PMs and adjacent EKS teams and engage in upstream community work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• 8+ years leading multi-tier web services development.
• Knowledge of SDLC, reviews, source control, builds, testing, and live-site ops.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the team's charter, roadmap, and delivery for add-on lifecycle and release capabilities.
• Mentor and grow SDEs across levels; set design and on-call quality standards.
• Increase release velocity while tightening safety: staged rollouts and automated validation.
• Own operational excellence for a fleet-wide, multi-region service with effective dashboards.
• Drive security and patching across add-on images and providers.
• Collaborate with PM and adjacent EKS teams on cross-team designs and launches.
• Represent the team in upstream ACK/kro and EKS community work and escalations.
