Job summary

CesiumAstro in Denver is seeking an Engineering Manager, Digital & Mixed-Signal Hardware to lead high-speed digital electronics teams. You will provide technical ownership for board- and system-level designs, drive architecture reviews, and mentor engineers across aerospace and defense programs.

This role combines hands-on design input with team leadership, ensuring scalable, manufacturable hardware while advancing process maturity and cross‑site collaboration. Senior engineers welcomed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of direct digital or mixed-signal hardware engineering experience, aerospace preferred; 1–3 years of leadership preferred but not required.
  • Deep expertise in high-speed digital and mixed-signal board design.
  • Software-defined radio experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity and timing.
  • Experience supporting design for manufacturability (DFM), design for test (DFT), and transition to production.
  • Proven ability to conduct rigorous technical reviews, mentor engineers, and communicate across disciplines.
  • Ability to balance architectural rigor with execution speed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with high-speed simulation/analysis tools (SiWave, SiPro).
  • Hands-on experience with Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolchains (e.g. Xilinx Vivado).
  • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical integrity and engineering excellence for high-speed digital and mixed-signal electronics development across the company.
  • Establish, mature, scale, and enforce engineer-friendly digital hardware development processes and standards.
  • Lead architecture/design reviews with SME engagement across disciplines.
  • Apply knowledge of adjacent disciplines to ensure board- and system-level success.
  • Contribute directly to board-level designs as needed on high-risk programs.
  • Lead or support complex debugging of high-speed interfaces and FPGA implementations.
  • Ensure designs are buildable and testable at scale using DFM/DFT.
  • Drive handoff from engineering to manufacturing with supply chain and production test teams.
  • Ensure designs meet aerospace quality, reliability, and scalability requirements.
  • Partner with Supply Chain on component availability and lifecycle risk.
  • Drive design reuse and modular architectures across product lines.
