Job summary

Aptiv is hiring an Engineering Manager in Orange, CA, on-site. You will lead the Design Engineering team to deliver reliable, scalable production of connectors and cable assemblies, while driving design releases, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll oversee KPI-driven strategy, mentor engineers, and ensure safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost objectives. Requires 7+ years engineering and 3+ years leadership, with CAD and ERP/MRP proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in connectors, cables, or electromechanical assembly.
• 3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of cable assembly, connector manufacturing, crimping, soldering, molding, and electro-mechanical assembly processes.
• Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Design Engineering team with technical support, CAD design, review & compliance, contract review, process implementation, planning, and production support.
• Support long-term growth focusing on Revenue & EBITDA, contract review, design release, and quality improvements.
• Define and verify contractual and engineering requirements, review project plans, and sign off upon completion.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure quotes, contracts, and on-time delivery.
• Drive KPI-aligned engineering strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
