Job summary

Sentry seeks an Engineering Manager for the Events Analytics Platform (EAP) to lead a scaling data engineering team responsible for managing and analyzing vast event data. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and partner with Product, Streaming, Security, and Compliance to drive the platform's direction.

You will guide delivery of core EAP features, ensure reliability at scale, and foster a culture of growth and inclusion while aligning with Sentry's long-term strategy and AI

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• 4+ years of people management experience with career development and performance management.
• Strong background in data platforms, storage systems, or analytical backends (ClickHouse, Pinot, or Druid).
• Experience with distributed systems, query optimization, or scaling data-intensive workloads.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with Python or Rust is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grow and develop a team of engineers with ownership and impact.
• Set technical and strategic direction balancing stability and evolution.
• Drive core EAP features for analytical queries, routing, storage and compute separation.
• Ensure EAP supports workloads of AI agents and MCP servers.
• Lead incidents, postmortems, and scaling challenges with operational excellence.
