Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the data platform team powering autonomous vehicle development. You will set technical direction and own delivery of high-scale data pipelines and backend services for camera, LiDAR, and telemetry data, while growing a capable team of engineers and partnering with ADAS, ML, and platform customers.

You will manage data ingestion, processing, storage, and serving platforms, drive CI/CD and infra automation, and ensure reliability, cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing or leading teams.
• Strong background in Python and backend services, distributed systems, or large-scale data platforms.
• Experience with AWS, IAC tools like Terraform/OpenTofu, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestrators and with designing data pipelines, ETL systems, or data processing frameworks.
• Experience with containerized applications, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Experience owning production services, incident management, and operational metrics.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers including hiring and performance management.
• Own the roadmap and delivery of data ingestion, processing, storage, and serving platforms.
• Support the architecture for Python and AWS-based backend services and data tooling; review designs and drive best practices.
• Own reliability, observability, performance, and cost of production services.
• Collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to gather requirements and set expectations.
• Manage budgets, capacity planning, and data movement.
• Drive CI/CD and infrastructure automation across the platform.
• Plan resourcing and run planning; report status and risks to leadership.
• Balance ownership with hands-on code reviews and architectural guidance.
