Job summary

TEGNA Inc. in the United States is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Streaming Applications domain for CTV platforms, including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung, and other connected TV environments.

You will own delivery outcomes, operational health, and execution across streaming app teams to ensure reliable playback and strong release discipline. This hybrid role sits in Knoxville, TN or New York, NY, collaborating with platform leads, backend services, and streaming infrastructure

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on client applications.
• 3+ years in an engineering management or senior technical leadership role.
• Strong experience with CTV platforms (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung or similar).
• Deep understanding of video playback, streaming behavior, and app-level failure modes.
• Experience delivering across multiple teams or pods.
• Proven ability to lead teams through releases and production issues.
• Strong communication skills and cross-disciplinary collaboration

Responsibilities

• Own delivery outcomes and operational health for streaming applications across CTV platforms.
• Lead execution across Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung, and related platforms.
• Ensure consistent playback, reliability and performance across devices.
• Translate product priorities into executable plans for streaming app teams.
• Balance feature delivery with platform stability and technical debt reduction.
• Directly manage CTV and streaming focused Team Leads; coach for release ownership and people leadership.
• Coordinate dependencies between app teams and streaming services; align with stakeholders.
