Job summary

TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Broadcast Engineer Lead to drive innovation and maintain excellence across our broadcast and IT infrastructure in Tampa.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic project leadership to shape system design, standards, and modernization initiatives for a 24/7 operations environment. You will own key broadcast and IT systems, mentor the engineering team, and coordinate across vendors, IT security, and station leadership to translate technical strategy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
• Minimum 5 years in broadcast operations/technology with leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience with broadcast systems, networking, servers, and desktop support.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design decisions and define local engineering standards.
• Act as primary technical owner for broadcast and IT systems, ensuring reliability.
• Plan and execute major local, capital, and corporate engineering projects.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with vendors, IT security and leadership.
• Oversee end-to-end system modernization and risk management.
