Samsara invites an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Core Infrastructure team responsible for compute, networking, storage, and cloud systems behind our products. You will influence reliability, scalability, and security while guiding a globally distributed group.

This role emphasizes coaching senior engineers, aligning cross-functional partners, and delivering automations that empower product teams to move faster.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years of people management.
• Experience leading and improving an established engineering team.
• Strong background in production infrastructure, cloud platforms, or distributed systems.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into measurable results.
• Excellent communication and cross-team alignment skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a globally distributed Core Infrastructure team.
• Own technical strategy and build an integrated roadmap across compute, networking, storage, and cloud efficiency.
• Improve operational health with capacity management, observability, and safe rollouts.
• Build automation and self-service infrastructure to speed up engineering teams.
• Apply AI-enabled tools to improve execution and toil reduction.
• Hire and develop a high-performing, inclusive team.
