Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to own core database capabilities for agentic workloads. You will set direction, build a high-performing team, and shape the engine and SQL evolution to support AI-driven workloads at scale.

You will guide engineers across design, development, and support of a highly-parallel, fault-tolerant SQL database system, while mentoring leaders and aligning with product strategy. This role emphasizes collaboration and rigorous delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in building and operating large-scale distributed systems, databases, or cloud services.
• 5+ years leading teams to build database internals.
• Strong fundamentals; query processing experience preferred.
• Exposure to AI, ML, or agent-driven workloads and how they consume data platforms.
• Proven experience recruiting and leading technical teams in a demanding talent market.
• Proven experience authoring roadmap documents, project plans, and RCAs.
• Strong problem solving skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the evolution of core database and SQL capabilities to serve emerging AI and agentic workloads alongside traditional analytics.
• Lead and grow a team of talented engineers in the design, development, and support of a highly-parallel and fault-tolerant SQL database system.
• Support engineers in their career development by providing clear feedback and developing engineering leaders.
• Translate product requirements into engineering work for your team.
• Collaborate with other local and global teams and leaders across the Engineering and Product Management organizations.
• Use your strong foundation as a technical leader to reliably deliver on complex projects while keeping the quality bar high.
• Foster a culture of creativity and innovation while also promoting practical decision‑making.
