Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Manager of Engineering to lead a team delivering secure, scalable cloud-native services, integrations, and enterprise capabilities. You will guide major technical decisions and partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Platform, and senior leadership to align priorities and drive outcomes.

You are a strong people and execution leader with deep technical depth who fosters continuous learning and develops high-performing teams in a regulated healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 7 years of experience in software engineering, full stack development, platform engineering, technical delivery, infrastructure engineering, or related technology disciplines.
• 2 years of prior management or people leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery models, backlog management, risk management, and delegation.
• Technical fluency across cloud-native development, APIs, CI/CD, and secure development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team responsible for designing and delivering complex services, integrations, and enterprise tech capabilities.
• Collaborate across Product, Architecture, Security, Platform, Infrastructure and leadership to align priorities and drive outcomes.
• Develop leaders, remove obstacles, and support modernization efforts.
