Job summary

Blue Shield of CA seeks a Manager, Engineering to lead a team responsible for designing and delivering complex services, integrations, cloud-native applications, and enterprise technology capabilities. You will ensure the team has strategy, structure, talent, standards, and execution discipline to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.

The role requires strong people and execution leadership with enough technical depth to guide major decisions, resolve risks, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 4 years in lieu of a degree.
• 7 years in software engineering/full stack/platform/tech delivery.
• 2 years in management or people leadership roles.
• Strong Agile delivery, backlog, risk, and delegation.
• Fluency with cloud-native development, APIs, CI/CD, and secure development practices.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, containers, IaC, and AI-assisted coding tools.
• Experience in regulated, healthcare, enterprise, or complex technology environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team delivering complex services, integrations, cloud-native apps, and enterprise tech capabilities.
• Ensure strategy, structure, talent, standards, and execution discipline to deliver secure, scalable, reliable solutions.
• Guide major technical decisions, resolve risks, and support modernization efforts.
• Collaborate across Product, Architecture, Security, Platform, Infrastructure, vendor, and leadership to align priorities.
• Drive outcomes that support Stellarus' mission and evolving technology strategy.
• Develop leaders, build high-performing teams, and foster continuous learning.
