Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Manager, Engineering to guide teams delivering complex services, cloud-native applications, and enterprise tech capabilities. You will ensure strategy, talent, standards, and execution discipline to create secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4 years of additional experience if no degree.
7+ years in software engineering, full stack, platform engineering, or related tech.
2+ years in management or people leadership roles.
Strong Agile delivery, backlog and risk management experience.
Fluency in cloud-native development, APIs, CI/CD, and secure coding.
Familiarity with front-end, backend services, databases, and containerization.

Responsibilities

Oversee teams delivering complex services, integrations, and enterprise tech solutions.
Ensure strategy, structure, talent, and execution discipline for secure, scalable products.
Partner across Product, Architecture, Security, Platform, Infra, and exec teams to align priorities.
Lead modernization efforts and elevate engineering practices and risk management.
Foster continuous learning and develop leaders at all levels.
