Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Manager, Software Development Engineering to lead and coach 2+ engineering teams within Cloud Commerce Acceptance. You will guide architecture, implement scalable services, and collaborate with product and IT stakeholders to align technical and business goals.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong Java/Spring Boot/Microservices skills, and a focus on secure, reliable software delivery using Agile and automated pipelines.

Qualifications

• IT leadership with 2+ teams, proven cross-functional influence.
• Hands-on, energetic, proactive and able to work under pressure.
• Strong skills in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
• Able to debug, analyze cores/heap dumps, and fix issues.
• Able to document and coach development practices and guidelines.
• Understands design patterns and platform-wide architecture.

Responsibilities

• Formally supervise and coach 2+ teams of engineers to build, enhance, and support multiple applications/services.
• Provide guidance on professionalism, career growth, development standards, automation and Agile/Lean practices.
• Translate product requirements into design and implementations; influence priorities.
• Own baseline architecture implementations and collaborate with other engineers.
• Meet deadlines, identify risks, and propose solutions for delivery challenges.
• Participate in kickoff sessions and workshops for domain solutions and feasibility.
