Tec Group International is seeking two French-speaking Engineering Managers to lead Owner's Engineering activities for major capital projects in Quebec. The role focuses on governance, quality, and external partner oversight rather than detailed design.
You will manage external engineering service providers, ensure schedule alignment, and communicate across French and English speaking teams throughout FEL1 to execution phases.
Location: Quebec, Canada
Contract Type: Long-term contract
Industry: Heavy Industrial / Metals / Major Capital Projects
Our client is a global industrial manufacturer delivering a significant portfolio of major capital investment projects across North America.
They are seeking two experienced, French-speaking Engineering Managers to support large-scale industrial projects in Quebec. These positions will act as the Owner's Engineering Representative, providing technical leadership and engineering governance throughout project development and execution while managing external engineering partners.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys influencing project outcomes from the owner's perspective rather than producing detailed engineering designs.
Reporting into the Capital Projects organisation, you will provide engineering leadership across major industrial projects from Front End Loading through project execution.
Rather than leading a large internal design team, your primary responsibility will be managing external Engineering Service Providers, ensuring engineering quality, technical compliance, schedule performance and successful project delivery.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project Engineers and Project Controls professionals throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidates who do not possess professional-level French language capability will not be considered for these positions.
Experience within one or more of the following environments would be highly advantageous:
Direct aluminium experience is advantageous but is not essential where candidates possess strong experience in comparable heavy industrial, steel, metals or process manufacturing environments.
The positions will support major capital projects across industrial facilities in Quebec.
Candidates must therefore be prepared to travel to and work from project sites in Quebec when required.
The ideal candidate will be a senior, French-speaking engineering professional with a strong background in major industrial capital projects.
They will have experience representing an asset owner, supervising third-party engineering companies and ensuring external providers deliver technically compliant, practical and commercially appropriate engineering solutions.
Previous experience within aluminium, smelting, steel, mining, metals processing or another heavy industrial environment would be particularly relevant.
This is expected to be a long-term contract supporting a multi-year capital investment programme.
