Job summary

Adepto Technical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Projects Manager to lead strategic capital investment projects across multiple manufacturing sites in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. You will oversee projects from concept through to close-out, partnering with regional stakeholders to deliver safely, on time, and within budget.

The role requires driving governance, mentoring Project Managers, and facilitating executive reviews, with roughly 30% travel across Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (process preferred, mechanical, electrical or civil).
• Minimum 10 years' experience in engineering project management, capital project delivery, or industrial project execution environments.
• Proven track record delivering complex CAPEX projects with budgets of €5M or greater.
• Experience within manufacturing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, logistics, FMCG, or other industrial plant environments is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary project teams, including direct management and development of Project Managers or engineering professionals.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and influencing Regional operational leaders, site management teams, and executive stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in project budgeting, cost control, financial forecasting, scheduling, risk management, and contractor management.
• Strong understanding of Front-End Loading (FEL) methodologies, including business case development, scope definition, cost estimation, project controls, and capital governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a portfolio of capital investment projects across multiple manufacturing sites within the EMEA region.
• Drive project development from concept through business case creation, approval, execution, commissioning, and close-out.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, OPEX, Procurement, and Global CAPEX teams to align investment priorities and project strategies.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed KPIs for Safety, Cost, Schedule, Scope, and Quality.
• Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication processes.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to a team of Project Managers supporting project delivery.
• Facilitate executive-level reviews, steering committees, and investment approval processes.
• Manage project risks, contractor performance, procurement strategies, and resource planning.
• Support manufacturing sites in developing long-term capital investment roadmaps.
• Promote continuous improvement, standardisation, and the sharing of best practices across the project portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.

The Opportunity
