Job summary

Cloudflare, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team building and scaling bot management, fraud detection, and abuse mitigation products.

You will recruit, mentor, and grow engineers, provide technical leadership, and collaborate with Product Management to shape and deliver the engineering roadmap. You will partner with detection and research teams to turn signals into reliable, performant customer solutions across real-time services, APIs, and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Track record of leading engineering teams, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, and supporting professional growth.
• Strong foundation in software engineering, with experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and services.
• Experience taking projects from inception to production and overseeing execution in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the team by hiring, mentoring, and empowering engineers with clear feedback and career development.
• Shape and deliver the engineering roadmap by translating customer problems into incremental deliverables while balancing reliability and performance.
• Provide technical leadership in design discussions and guide decisions about scalable distributed services, product integrations, APIs, and analytics.
• Turn detection signals into customer capabilities by partnering with detection and research teams to deliver analytics and configurable controls.
• Measure and improve customer outcomes by using feedback and production data to enhance effectiveness and reduce friction.
• Own operational health by ensuring observability, safe releases, and incident response.
• Drive cross-team execution by resolving dependencies and aligning priorities across teams.
