Job summary

Pave Talent is partnering with a global specialty chemicals and electronic materials manufacturer to recruit an on-site Engineering Manager for a high-volume production site. • High-volume operations in multi-site or matrixed organizations.

Job description

This is a site-level Engineering Manager seat for someone who has run and improved batch chemistry in a real production plant, and who wants to own the technical direction of a whole site, not a single line.

Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a global specialty chemicals and electronic materials manufacturer with a decades-long track record. Their materials move through the entire electronics supply chain, from cars and phones to data infrastructure and AI. This role leads engineering at a high-volume manufacturing site with R&D and sister sites to partner with.

• Engineers who have personally run chemical synthesis in batches and know what it takes to make every batch repeatable
• Leaders who still go to the floor and would rather solve a process problem with their team than read about it in a report
• People who like owning capital projects end to end, from the budget request through validation

If you have not worked hands-on with batch chemical synthesis, or your recent work is program management away from the plant floor, this is not your role.

You own the site's technical strategy, not a slice of it. You will set the engineering direction, build the team's bench through succession planning, and work across a multi-site, matrixed organization with visibility into R&D and other plants.

You will lead site engineering and partner directly with site operations leadership to keep engineering priorities and production goals aligned. Your scope covers process, equipment, tooling, reliability, and capital, with occasional travel to other sites.

This is a fully on-site role in a hands-on chemical manufacturing environment. Batch chemical synthesis experience is a firm requirement from the client, so leaders without it will not move forward, however strong their mechanical or equipment background. The job balances strategy with execution: some days you are presenting a capital plan, other days you are on the floor working a root cause with your team.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related)
• Hands-on chemical synthesis experience in batch chemical manufacturing
• 8+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, including leading engineers or engineering teams
• Capital project management and equipment implementation experience
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, reliability engineering, and maintenance strategy
• Specialty chemicals or electronic materials background (strongly preferred)
• High-volume operations in a multi-site or matrixed organization
• Computer-aided design (CAD), simulation tools, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
