Pave Talent is recruiting for a global specialty chemicals company with a newly commissioned Fremont plant. You will own critical process steps on plant-scale equipment, stabilize production in the startup phase, and lead capital-project scopes as the site expands.

The role requires a Chemical Engineering degree and 5+ years of hands-on process engineering experience, with proficiency in JMP or Minitab for data-driven decisions.

Pave Talent is hiring for a global specialty chemicals company. This plant is newly commissioned, still in startup, and aiming to double output within the next year. There is no knowledge base yet, so you will set the standard the other process engineers follow. Customers sign off on every raw material and process change, so your work gets noticed.

• Chemical engineers who have carried a critical process on their own at plant scale: reactors, distillation, filtration, crystallization or similar
• People from specialty chemicals, polymers, resins, coatings, lubricants, battery materials or industrial biotech
• Engineers who have specified, diagnosed and replaced process equipment themselves
• Anyone who can name the number they moved: yield, cycle time, throughput or cost
• Multi-hat people comfortable on the floor around flammable solvents and corrosives

In the site leader's words: "The flexibility of wearing different hats is very, very important to us."

If you want a mature site with every process dialed in, or your background is wafer fab, plating or R&D only, this is not your role.

• First six months: stabilize production, learn the chemistry deeply and troubleshoot until batches run clean every time
• Next: lead the process scope of capital projects as the plant expands
• Throughout: set up the control charts, chase down root causes, write the procedures and coach the engineers and operators around you

• A bachelor's or master's in Chemical Engineering. This is an engineering seat, so a chemistry-only background will not clear it
• 5+ years in process engineering or process development, with hands-on time in chemical production
• Process scope on capital projects
• JMP, Minitab or a similar tool for running a process on data
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, or moving back with family here, and on site in Fremont five days a week
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship, now or in the future

Level and pay are set after the interviews.

• $110,000 to $164,000 base. Offers usually land near the middle of the range
• A 10% target bonus that can pay above target in a strong year
• At least 25 paid days off a year, holidays included
