Pave Talent is recruiting on behalf of a global specialty materials manufacturer serving electronics. This on-site role focuses on quality engineering at a new site, ensuring material batches meet specifications and driving process improvements.
You will perform data-driven quality reviews, investigate discrepancies, support CAPA and 8D actions, and help implement SOPs, COAs, and LIMS updates as the site scales with ISO 9001/IATF readiness on the horizon.
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a global specialty materials manufacturer serving the electronics industry. This young site turns incoming raw materials into chemical products through a reactor and blending process, runs around the clock, and has about 40 people. The hiring manager expects the team to roughly double within the next year.
- Resourceful engineers who build a process when none exists yet
- Quality people with a chemistry or materials background who understand what happens inside a batch, not just whether a part passes
- Clear verbal communicators who can walk operators and chemists through a data trend
- People who want to grow into leadership as the product line scales
If you want a mature site where every system is in place, or your quality experience is only in machined or mechanical parts, this is not your role.
You will report directly to the hiring manager, who leads a team of six chemists and technicians, and work on the floor with operations every day. In the hiring manager's words: "Because we are a newer business, we are building the systems right now." Your day starts with quality data on raw materials, intermediates and finished product: find where it drifts, dig into why, and turn what you learn into specifications and procedures.
- Daily quality data review and root cause on every discrepancy
- Incoming raw material analysis, trending results to catch materials going out of specification
- Corrective and preventive action (CAPA) and 8D problem solving, tied to failure mode and effects analyses (FMEAs)
- Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Process change notifications through closure, including customer communication
- Certificates of analysis (COAs) and specification updates in the laboratory information management system (LIMS)
- Calibration support, and readying the quality system for future ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 audits (on the horizon, not this year's priority)
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science (biology with strong chemistry coursework considered)
- 2 to 5 years of hands‑on quality engineering experience in manufacturing, ideally around 3
- Experience with chemical, materials or process manufacturing rather than discrete parts
- Data analysis with Minitab, JMP or a similar statistical tool
- Able to work fully on site, Monday through Friday
- Authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
- Exposure to ISO 9001 or IATF 16949, or statistical process control (SPC)
- Any LIMS, or an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system such as SAP or JD Edwards
- Experience at a new site, start‑up line or scale‑up
