Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience managing technology and leading technology projects
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) (e.g. UI technology stack - React JS, CSS/HTML, JAVA, Spring Framework, AWS Cloud)
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical AWS experience (e.g., EKS, ECS, PostgreSQL, Lambda, S3)
• Demonstrate proficiency in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
• Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and governance expectations
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
• Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, collaboration and mentors engineers and partner with application teams to drive best practices across reliability, performance, risk, cybersecurity, and legal/compliance requirements
• Work in a collaborative, trusting environment—one that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions for customers globally
• Leads team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes
• Applies knowledge of tools within the SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities
• Develops using Test Driven Development and is familiar with Continual Integration on a shared code base
• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine approaches
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability
• Applies technical experience to lead feature design and strategy for the program
• Prototype and deliver AI-enabled workflows and translate stakeholder needs into designs
