Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the team building the core systems powering Console's AI agents. You will guide engineers in agent execution, orchestration, and distributed backends that enable autonomous workflows across enterprise apps.

This role blends technical problem-solving with team development and startup-speed execution. You’ll mentor Tech Leads, own delivery commitments, and help scale the engineering organization to meet ambitious product goals

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Strong background in backend, platform, or distributed systems engineering.
• Experience with distributed architectures, concurrency, state management, and workflow orchestration.
• Ability to engage in architecture discussions and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performing team of platform engineers for Console's agent execution and orchestration.
• Stay involved in architecture, design, and debugging, partnering with Tech Leads.
• Drive delivery, translate product and technical priorities into plans, manage dependencies.
• Collaborate with Product and AI Engineering to evolve agentic architecture and scalable capabilities.
• Own team performance, development, and career growth, including coaching and feedback.
• Partner with Tech Leads on scope, sequencing, and timelines while maintaining accountability.
• Scale the engineering team through hiring and structured growth.
