Job summary

Swordpoint is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a growing team across the United States and Brazil. This hands-on role owns the delivery cadence, drives architecture discussions, and ensures work is scoped, sequenced, and shipped.

You will mentor engineers, run one-on-ones, and collaborate closely with operations and the CTO. The role emphasizes AI‑assisted development, code quality, and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in software engineering with at least 2 years leading engineers.
• Hands-on technical depth with end-to-end software delivery.
• Experience translating business needs into engineered solutions.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI and AI-assisted development.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Run delivery cadence: planning, standups, sprint reviews, status updates to leadership.
• Manage and develop engineers and interns across US and Brazil; conduct one-on-ones and growth plans.
• Collaborate with business operations to scope, prioritize, and deliver internal tools and automation.
• Own code review quality, testing discipline, release management, on-call, and incident response.
• Participate in hiring: interview loops and take-home reviews; set hiring standards.
• Break modernization work into increments aligned with the roadmap.
• Champion AI-assisted development as a standard practice; establish usage norms.
• Identify blockers early and communicate risk with options.
