Job summary

Regal, based in New York City, seeks an experienced engineering leader to own observability tooling and evaluation frameworks for voice agents. You will guide a 3-5 person team, contribute hands-on Python/TypeScript work, and partner with Product to scale Copilot integrations.

Your role will shape the reliability and performance of our AI agent platform in a fast-growing startup environment. You will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and own the onboarding of new hires while aligning with

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a relevant engineering role
• 1-3 years of experience managing a team
• Hands-on with Python and TypeScript at senior level
• Strong AWS experience: Lambda, SQS, Kinesis
• Comfort with ambiguity in observability + eval for AI agents
• Strong written and verbal communication across tech and non-tech stakeholders
• Mentoring engineers and helping them grow

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 3-5 engineers with high hiring standards
• Own the observability and evaluation roadmap and related tooling
• Stay hands-on with Python code for production debugging when needed
• Collaborate with product teams to turn signals into actionable metrics
• Ensure reliability and scalability of integrations linking systems to external/internal services
• Support the Copilot product roadmap with Product
• Remove blockers and optimize cross-functional processes
• Participate actively in hiring: sourcing, interviewing, onboarding
