Job summary

REGAL, an AI Agent Platform based in NYC, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a 3–5 person team focused on observability, evaluation tooling, and scalable integrations. You will stay hands-on with Python and TypeScript while guiding product and engineering partners to improve voice-agent quality and reliability.

You will help define the governance for agent evaluation, mentor engineers, and drive the Copilot roadmap in collaboration with Product. Hybrid NYC office presence is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a relevant engineering role
• 1-3 years of experience managing a team
• Hands-on experience with Python and Typescript; able to write and debug code
• Solid experience with AWS services (Lambda, SQS) and streaming systems (Kinesis)
• Comfortable managing ambiguity in a rapidly evolving space
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Track record of mentoring engineers and helping them grow

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 3-5 engineers, set expectations, support career development, and maintain a high hiring bar
• Own execution of the observability and evaluation roadmap and tooling for agent quality
• Stay hands-on enough to contribute in Python code and resolve production issues
• Partner with product teams to translate signals into actionable metrics
• Own reliability and scalability of integrations with external/internal systems as the business scales
• Support the Copilot product roadmap in collaboration with Product
• Remove blockers, adjust processes, or pair on debugging to keep momentum
• Be actively involved in hiring: sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
